Our Vision
Ko te whakakitenga
Our vision is for all rainbow young people in Aotearoa New Zealand to have a sense of safety and belonging in their schools and communities.
“InsideOUT is really committed to including rangatahi voices within their work and creating positive experiences, and that value for my voice during my time with them has done wonders for my self-confidence”
For Youth & Whānau
It can be hard being a rainbow, takatāpui or intersex young person. We have compiled a range of resources for you to learn more about rainbow identities and safely explore who you are. We can also connect you to rainbow-inclusive sex, relationship and healthcare education.
If you are looking for support or community, we also have a list of rainbow support services, social groups and volunteering opportunities throughout Aotearoa.
If you have a rainbow young person or loved one, you may wish to learn more about their identities and get advice on how to support them. We can direct you to educational resources and support groups for whānau on these learning journeys.
For School Staff
School staff have a crucial role to play in ensuring that schools are safe, inclusive and accessible for rainbow young people.
We have a range of digital and printed educational resources to equip you with the tools and knowledge to make your schools and classrooms more rainbow inclusive.
Our a team of regional Schools Coordinators are also available to provide professional development and workshops to school staff and teachers anywhere in Aotearoa. They can also offer guidance on supporting and affirming rainbow students, working with whānau and developing inclusive policies and procedures within your school.
For Workplaces
We provide rainbow competency training, professional development and consultation to workplaces, organisations and service providers throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
Delivered by members of the rainbow community, our workshops empower staff and workplaces to be safer and more inclusive for rainbow & takatāpui people.
We are also the national provider of government-funded rainbow competency training for mental health and addiction services.
